My first stab at truly writing a complete electronic song. I had done plenty of dabbling around with keyboards before, but this is the first time anything got completed...hehehe. And as for this being my first real song, I don't think it turned out half bad. :o) Please read the song story page for more. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was inspired basically by a love of all kinds of music. I have always had a desire to write an electronic song, but never was able to sit myself down and complete one, or at least one that I was proud of.
Then recently I visited mp3.com for the first time just to hear some new dance stuff and I was blown away by just how good a trance song could be. At that point, I knew I had to write my first song immediately.
There's never anything too complicated about this song. My only goal is to write songs with good catchy hooks that can be listened to not just inside the club, but outside as well. This song is certainly not mixed for a club, though I could easily remix it for that purpose. So I think I accomplished my goal. Now all I have to do is get some feedback as to whether I really did "hook" you on this song. :o)
Just as a side note, this song is made with only a Yamaha S80, and Cakewalk Express 6.0 (yes, an EXTREMELY outdated sequencing program). But I always figured it's not the equipment you use, it's what you can do with what you have. So, I'll tell you that the overall volume level of the song is probably rather low, but that's because I have no mixing board, only my sound card. So turn it up if you want it louder...hehehe.
In addition, the song is probably a little bass heavy because I mixed it for my car's stereo system. I mixed it this way because my car's system is really very average and that's sort of the target I aim for. Sure, any song can sound great on an excellent sound system or some good headphones or studio monitors, but if it sucks on an average audio system, what's the point? Anyhow, I also figure that it's better to have more bass than not because you can always turn it down if it's too much, but not necessarily vice versa.
Anyhow, thanks for reading my whole explanation for this song. I can only hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it. This most likely will not be the only/final mix of this song, so please keep showing up to hear any changes. And on that note, I encourage feedback from listeners to let me know how I'm doing. Critical or otherwise, please send me an email and let me know what you think. Talk to me people!
Thanks again for listening. :o)
