Story Behind the Song
One day while in the studio recording a song called "Love Is A Gamble", Allen's pager kept going off in the booth whle laying down vocals. Producer Robert Guzman got frustrated and told Allen to turn off his pager. While trying to pu the pager on vibrate, Robert heard all the different beeps the pager had. He thought they sounded cool and sampled them right off the pager. Allen then came up with a great idea to write a song about the girl who had been blowing up his pager. The rest is history.
