    Story Behind the Song
My brother wrote this poem and gave it to me in order to make it into a song. Mitochondrial DNA, unlike nuclear DNA, is only passed along from the mother's side. Remarkable similarities of mitochondrial DNA between all human beings points to a common mother and an African origin. Among other things, this theory certainly blows away any justification for racism.

    Lyrics
Good doctors looked into our bones
    (Mitochondrion, mitochondrion)
    Down to our maternal genes
    All language, home or means
We have one mother, we have one mother
    All humans hold the truth

Good doctors dug into the earth
    (In Africa, in Africa)
They found Eden's deep riff valley
    (In Afica, in Africa)
It's the place of mankind's birth

Don't take a good doctor, just feel it in your bones
    Our mother glowed like rosewood
    Not bleached Athena's stones

If God made bronze Eve in His image
(The face of God, the face of God)
Then some may be in for quite a shock
When we arrive at God's gate and knock

Wallace: vocals, acoustic and electric rhythm gutars, mandolin. Dan: bass. Kirk: drums. Ray: timbales.
