Story Behind the Song
"This melody came to me the night my best friend Lisas mother passed away from Breast Cancer. I spent the night with her. The next day when I went home I wrote this song. Simultaneously, my cousin Carol Ann was going through a rough divorce and much of that came out in the lyrics. Life is filled with trials and tribulations, its how we handle them that counts!"
Lyrics
VERSE: No one said that life was gonna be easy. You just do your best and try and carry on. Who ever said that love was gonna be pretty. Sometimes there are rainbows. Many times there are storms. And as you sit there and hold your head and cry. The more I want to take the pain away inside. CHORUS: Deep in the night, I pry for you baby. And how I wish, Id fix your life with a song. But all the notes, chords, and harmonies, wont bring back what used to be. So Ill just stay here and hold you till the dawn. VERSE: They never said the road wont be had to travel. Youll get bumped and bruised, as you try and walk along. Love never said your heart wont get torn and shattered. You just pick up the pieces, put them back where they belong. And as you sit there, hold your head and cry. The more I want to take the pain away inside. CHORUS: Deep in the night, I pray for you baby. How I wish, Id fix your life with a song. But all the notes, chords, and harmonies wont bring back what used to be. So Ill just stay here and hold you till the dawn.
