Story Behind the Song
This song is based on a poem I wrote in 1984 which was roused by a domestic murder that took place across the street from where I lived. The victims were a man and his girlfriend. He shot himself after first shooting her. This dark composition describes a stalker whose mental state is on the fence. Unfortunately, his fantasies about this woman become a reality and ends in murder. Its an unsettling subject, but I believe that this song has captured the eerie imagery.
Lyrics
From Mind to Murder
Your eyes send shivers up my spine
Your feet are dancing through my mind
Your lips are like a cherry rose
And your fingers are tearing at my soul
Obsessive fantasies
Defecating ecstasy
Ill see you in the night
You can sacrifice your life to me
Madness
To me
Madness
To me
Madness
Your room, I watch it every night
Through your window, I feel you come alive
Wicked passion, is all I feel
This obsession is more than real
Obsessive fantasies
Defecating ecstasy
Ill see you in the night
You can sacrifice your life to me
Madness
To me
Madness
To me
Madness
Youre my feminine prey
Reflections of the night's eyes
Detail in every fashion . . .
Oblivious to my passion
Patience is my virtue
As you fall into a deep sleep
I slip into your window
Here lies my true love
Misery will make you feel alive
Agony, youll feel it through the night
Tonight is where our life begins
And tonight could be your very end
(Chorus)
Bound to my bedpost
I smile as your tears fall
I share your loving pain
Your blood is on my bedroom walls
