    Story Behind the Song
Originally entitled "Talent Show", the song was written by Bob and the Sweet Ones (Bob Boyce, John Monson, Tyler Owen and Adam Osika) for the Westside 1989 talent show. Played by Tribal Eye throughout their career, the song was eventually recorded by Loveseat in 1996 at Dreamland Studios (sounds much nicer than it is -- actually it was some guys garage). The day was ripe for misery. Kirby had thrown out his neck so the only way he could look at us in this cramped space was move his whole body which meant he'd invariably hit somebody in the head with the neck of his bass. No one was injured and the songs turned out quite well, surprisingly. The songs were remastered and remixed for the Applehands record. The songs were originally recorded on DA88 which caused quite a headache in mixing -- had to rent a machine from Chip Davis' studio to transfer tracks....

    Lyrics
The sunrise fades through a county window
Breaking speed like an early snowfall
fighting dreams with a broken stick and
stripping seams with coquettish tricks and
that's all right cause she loves me anyway
That's all right cause she loves me anyway
    Dancing through my palpitations
    Recompense my inhibitions
To try and find out what's going on
Is understanding just what went wrong
That's all right cause I'm lonely anyway
That's all right cause she's lonely anyway

    Slipping into simple thought
    Unaware of time forgot
    Search and seek for heavenly
    Divination...hey

    Understanding a will forgotten
    Powerless to unload the weapon
    Celebrate me! Oh never mind
Those damn kids can be so unkind
That's all right cause it happens everyday
That's all right cause it happens ever

    Slipping into simple thought
    Unaware of time forgot
Search and seek for heavenly divination
(the leaves they burn I scream and turn--there's only one way)

    Crawling through her doctor's hallway
Lost in thought with her daughter's birthday
    Falling onto her weaken knees
Please understand it's a fucking disease
But that's all right cause we'll do it anyway
But that's all right cause we'll do it anyway

    Slipping into simple thought
    Unwaware of time forgot
    Search and seek for heavenly
    Divinity we never knew
(the cold the empty hole vacuating like a bang leaves emerging scars)
Try and forge a sunken doorway
to places far and long forgot
Try and find a single pathway
    Unbeknownst to me
(Gold fills the truckstops, God loves a slip knot leaving warped tracks of memories try and light a cigarette both sides point to me)
