Story Behind the Song
It's "Lovesick" in terms of "I'm sick of you." Not "I'm so in love with you it makes me sick."
The church organ sound was achieved by running Jonah's cello through a Leslie speaker cabinet (these are the ones you often find a Hammond B3 hooked-up to. The speaker spins, giving it that cozy, warbbly sound).
Lyrics
Lovesick just the other day. And now there's nothing left to say. And everything you do just annoys me. Took my money, wasted my time. All those moments I listen to you whine have quickly worn thin on me. Shut me in, shut me out. Make me scream, make me shout. Ya do anything you want. Just don't love me anymore. Maybe tomorrow things will change. I'll kiss you in the pouring rain. But until then, don't hold your breath. Roll me another one of those cigarettes. I'll make an effort, I'll try to forget that any of this ever happened. Shut me in, shut me out. Make me scream, make me shout. Ya do anything you want. Just don't love me anymore....Don't speak to me! Don't call me! Don't look at me the way you used to!
