A funny half-love song with geographical (canadian in fact) overtones. |

Story Behind the Song
The inspiration for this song was writer's block. After a couple "dry" months, I figured I should just try to write the most ridiculous song I could in order to "free up the machine" again.
So I looked at a map, and I looked at Canada, and I looked at Halifax, and the phrase "My phone don't work but you can Halifax me sometime" came to me.
Seemed ridiculous enough to base a song on nothing other than mentioning the provinces of Canada, and that's just what I did.
Lyrics
I. I just sat down, to Calga-read your letter
When the first tear fell I Van-couvered up my eyes
You got me tied up in a big old Windsor-Knot dear
But I cannot say, it comes as a surprise
II. Now the waitress is carrying some serious Edmon-tonnage
She said you look pretty sad, is there something I could do
I asked her to loan me a couple hundred dollars
She said I know your type, Yu-kon artist, you
Chorus: but I just called, cuz I Saskatcha-want-you
My phone dont work but you can Hali-fax me sometime
I know you dont Ontar-ee-owe me nothing
But I wanted to say, that youre still on my mind
III. With out you babe, Im just like a fish Otta-water
Crawling on the banks of lake superior
Im down on my knees like a praying Manitoba
But I know youve heard this Sas-ka-tune before to Chorus
IV. Quebec your bottom dollar that I love you
Ill follow you from sea to shining sea
Ill be the lone ranger you can be my toronto
But it doesnt seem that Mont-real to me to Chorus
