	Story Behind the Song The Tuskagee Airmen were Black Americans that fought the Nazis in the skys over Europe and racial discrimination back home. This song addresses the prejudice faced by a Black man coming of age during the 1930s & 1940s. Told he'd never fly because he was Black, he not only learned to fly but became a great pilot protecting his fellow Americans, both Black & White.
