    A work for concert/symphonic band.
Credits: University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Symphony Band, Thomas Dvorak, conductor.

    Story Behind the Song
Territories was commissioned by Thomas Dvorak and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony - Junior Wind Ensemble. The work consists of three themes, each belonging to a different musical section or "territory." These themes may represent rulers of the territories to which they belong. Each territory contrasts with the others as if representing different lands and the communities that lie in them. In the final section of the piece, all three themes are sounded, one after the other, overlapping, or at the same time in counterpoint. This may represent an interaction of the rulers on some level, perhaps conflict such as battle.
