    Story Behind the Song
This probably has the most behind it, it's title can be missleading, it's a prayer really for those who are imprisoned. It came about from my secound time in Murmansk Russia, in the winter of 1994. It tells the story of 3 people, situations that i saw, and was a part of. The longing in my heart was that, Gods life in me would somehow reach out and touch them, even when i did not respound in the right way.

verse one is about the icecream lady on the corner(they sell ice cream all year round, especially winter, outdoors in freezing, artic circle tempretures!) and even though seeing her very briefly, wanting Gods life to impact her, wondering what went on inside.

verse two is a scene I saw in a bus one day passing this lady weeping against a wall, and watching the people pass her by.

verse three is a situation that happened at the hostel where we were staying, even though this man did wrong we threw him out into the snow, i coulnd't help thinking later, there must be something more we can do to show God's love than this. And so the prayer to set them free, then turns to a prayer for us also, that we would be set free from our self and selfpreservation, into the love God has for us and to showing that love to others.

    Lyrics
Ice cream lady on the corner
What you got in store for me
My hands are cold, my feet are freezing
But theres something I want to see
Theres a light inside my heart
Does it ever reach to you
And set you free, set you free, set you free

A woman weeps against a cold stone city wall
And the people pass her by
A tear trickles down her face and turns to ice
And Im just left to wonder why
    And the burden it grows
    And the pain now increased
    Wont you set her free,
set her free, set her free

A man stagers in from a cold and darkened street
Hes had one too many now to drink
He comes in and he shouts at the top of his voice
And hits the first man that he meets
And they hold him up against the wall
And they take him out side
And they throw him in the snow, in the snow
    In the snow
Set him free, set him free, set him free
Set us free, set us free, set us free
