	Picture a sleepy midwestern town, where on the surface nothing has changed for years. But below the surface, is a force that will explode the "bubble" of everyone's lives forever.

	Story Behind the Song Jimmy (the basement university rock professor), John Bertsche and I were sitting in Jimmy's basement studio listening to a session that John Phillips (Mamas & Papas) did with the Rolling Stones around the time of Exile on Main Street. John had asked Jimmy to give the tracks a listen. So there we were were, with each track individually isolated, and we hear Keith playing (and coughing and talking), Mick singing (and yelling and yelping) and Charlie swinging. It was just beyond amazing to get the chance to hear these tracks separated and then come together. It makes you realize even more how the sum of the parts was just one of the most incrediable sounds in history. And the recording was just so loose. Today when artists record the tendency is to do it real clean and neat, and this track was just all over the place and man did it sound great when it came together. It was such a revelaton. After we finished listening John picked up the guitar and Slow Town was written in about 15 minutes.
