Put this on at a low volume just before crawling into bed. A "virtual fingerpicked acoustic guitar" drones in the foreground while its "electric" counterpart wails in the background. Hypnotic drums build one piece at a time. Underneath it all, 2 just audible voices beckon you off to the Land of Morpheus. Slowly does it unfold, so don't hit stop till the vocal kicks in! |

Story Behind the Song
Frustrated with other music I was working on, I wished to create something new to take my mind off of things. I picked up my guitar and started messing around with a couple chords, but I didn't want to worry about taping the stupid thing, so I programmed a simulation of it. I added other ideas as they came, and in a couple of hours I had pretty much completed the song. It reminded of stuff I used to hate that my brother would listen to - music to sleep by, I always said. Hence the title. I played it for my other brother, who was going to put up a page on this site, and he really liked it, so I ended up starting this whole Computerman thing. It may be music to sleep by, but it's mine. And my clumsy hands don't have to get in the way anymore.
Lyrics
Close your eyes, open your mind
It's music to sleep by.
Two chords are all I need
To weave my tapestry-
My music to sleep by.
The colors that I see
They should not be
Reserved just for me-
Let them paint the scenery
Through music to sleep by.
Floating down the stream
Between real and dream
Things not what they seem
You make quite a team
With my music to sleep by.
Pleasant dreams!
