A slow, mysterious composition evoking a child's heightened sense of discovery, it uses the blues form as a departure point for an extended harmonic concept. |

Story Behind the Song
I looked at an old black & white photo of myself at age one or two. I was in the yard of our first house gazing ecstatically into the blowing weeds and reaching out to them as if they were the Ultimate. I've been looking for those weeds ever since! It inspired me to write this composition about childhood wonder. Let's try to recapture our joy & awe in living! This is a modified blues form. Since bars 5 & 6 deviate from the expected IV chord, it changes from a blues to something different in mood and harmony.
