Driving rock with a techno current

    Story Behind the Song
The lyrics came first. It's what I imagined my Dad thought on January 1st, 1973. When I sang them out loud to Travis he made up the music and we passed it along to Dustin who did some magic and then Dan laid the beat down and we went nuts with it live. During the recording Keith put all these techno grooves behind it which I think adds a cool color to the finished product. It's a blast to perform since it's so neurotic and really involves the crowd or bartenders whomever is getting into it more.

    Lyrics
January. What can this be - I'm all hiked up on my coffee trying to recall the night before. Piece of paper in my pocket. New Year's resolutions on it. Good intentions lead to my front door. In my thoughts I've been many famous men in my cramped up room I will always win but the outside world keeps throwing me these curves. So I go to my job near the StopNRob by the old grade school that I used to go to and these things are really getting on my nerves...What if I told you things that I don't think you want to hear like I hope I'm not still alive in a year? I'm moody, jaded, thoughtless, hated condescending over-rated, a thinking ticking time bomb so what's the point? Don't say you want to try and get close don't tell me there's no such things as ghosts or I'll be your disappearing boy. I'm going to sit in my chair unafraid an unaware 'til the telephone rings or the fat lady sings another year goes by and I won't care. Why solve my problems when it's easier to talk about it? Why take my chance and leave here and be like the rest who doubted? I'm going to put the blame on me. Why not just put the blame on me.
