	Story Behind the Song Recording notes --------------- The vocal and guitar lines were initially recorded onto a Tascam 424 mk-2 using an Audio Technica `Midnight Blues' mic. The guitar is a Hondo twelve string with only six strings on it...one day we'll have enough money to buy the rest of them. Unfortunately the mic stand was a CD-ROM drive bay which made things interesting... After that the song was transferred to a Fostex FD-4 and strings and piano lines were added using a home-brew sequencer running under Acorn RISC OS. String sounds were from a Korg NS5R module and the piano came from an Casio AP-20. Finally the 4 resulting tracks were transferred to Cubase, where we added some compression & reverb to the vocals and fiddled with the EQ a bit. We also used Soundforge to remove a nasty click from the guitar part as it was the only problem with a good take. The bitrate compression algorithm in the streaming audio thinks that what's left of the click is important tho', and it makes it much more audible =( ============================================ Updated Version --------------- We overdubbed a couple of guitar parts, one to cover a slightly muted bass string in the intro and a second to cover the click mentioned above. We gave the track a bit of a stereo picture by panning the strings and adding a couple of extra guitar bits here and there. The song's been more or less completely remixed, and definitely for the better.
