Hadrat is Song/movement #7 on Ai Tengri: The Shaman's Piano. Conversion to Islam by sword, defeat of Islam by sword: the forms of tengri - thunder, the drums of the Dervish Hadrat, the Moorish Tango, the rhythms of Carnival, as we sweep back on our time spiral to the receding echoes of hoofbeats on the steppes. "Oh Mongol horde, ye live forever in our souls." And now, the Sacred Mountain Tengri Khan soars up in the twilight, shining gloriously in the darkening cosmos. | MP3.com CD: Ai Tengri: Shaman's Piano - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
See song description above. The cycle of 7 songs in Ai Tengri are part of a single fabric of "re-incarnated" music, transmitted directly from mind through fingers to Steinway music case via the piano keyboard. The original DAT was processed from about ten hours of continuous "raw" studio tape.
Lyrics
OVERVIEW: The pieces in this album form a cycle, episodes in the continuum of a single tone poem. Each time a theme surfaces, it appears changed, "remembered" as it were through a veil of intervening music, transformed by its submersion in the psyche. The descriptions attached to the individual tracks (songs) cross boundaries and apply everywhere in the larger whole of the album/CD "AI TENGRI: The Shaman's Piano".
