Story Behind the Song
The melody was originally from a Gregorian chant. Christians know the tune as "When I survey the wondrous cross". ('Santa Cruz' - get it?)
I use a very traditional Hawaiian vamp with this song.
The 2nd guitar is mostly improvised.
The title is taken from the town where we recorded.
