Story Behind the Song
I wrote the song after a date with a young lady that liked only Jazz music. She took me to see Earl Klugh (a magnificent perforer...he encored with some Chicago Blues, much to the lady's chagrin...). Then I took her to see Stevie Ray Vaughn...we were plastered against the back wall of the old Grandstand Stage at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and SRV was "on". Emotions were so high, I felt he was just pulling tears from my eyes! The lady was impressed, to say the least. We never went out again, but I wrote this song for her...to try and blur the lines of genre as much as to just express my feelings at the time. If you listen close, you'll hear her name at the end.
