Quirky fun pop tune. Guitarist, Steve Tarshis adds a mideastern flavor to Joan's vocal work which is reminiscent of Kate Bush.
    CD: Dress of Dawn
Credits: Written and produced by Joan Bujacich

    Story Behind the Song
This song was originally performed in Joan's all female New York based rock band "She". Rocco Giovino came up with a cool new groove for the tune, Steve Tarshis added a mideastern flavor with his fine guitar work and Joan created an interesting dialoque between the 2 vocal parts. There is also real cello and violin parts that add a haunting style to the track.

    Lyrics
    LOVELY FACE

You walk by me on my home street
(Could I touch it , Could I kiss it, Could I make it all mine)
I see you glance , our eyes do meet
(Could I lose all myself boy youre so divine)
I take you home youre in my head
(After I have you , what will I do with that face
I go to sleep youre in my bed
    (Your love is my disgrace)

I was walking down the street and to my surprise
I see this man he had such beautiful and wandering eyes
I am staring at him, he is staring at me
Could this be the someone in my destiny

Instead I go on walking , I walk on home
Im trying to shake him, just leave me alone I say
Get out of my head man, get out of my head
    Just leave me alone

    Ooh what a Lovely
    Youve got a lovely
    Its such a lovely face

Sometimes these things are meant to be
(Could I touch it , Could I kiss it, Could I make it all mine)
    Sometimes a look is destiny
(Could I lose all myself boy youre so divine)
Maybe Ill leave this one alone
    (Passing cheeks and passing eyes)
Maybe these eyes should never roam
(I want it, I want it, I want your surprise)

Eyes of wonder , skin so sleek
Cheek bones higher than eyes can see
Smiled passed him and I went went on home
And In these walls Im climbing
In my vision face reminding me of you

That face is haunting me too

Should I set this moment free
Or will you come and surprise me
I want your lovely face, its such a lovely face

I want it, I want it, I want your lovely face

    Ooh what a Lovely
    Youve got a lovely
    Its such a lovely face

Each day it always is the same
You have a smile and not a name
You have a look that says hello
I must be nuts just let it go

How many faces does one see
Why is this one still haunting me
I better free you from my head
    Imagination left unsaid

You walk by me on my home street
I see you glance , our eyes do meet
I take you home youre in my head
I go to sleep youre in my bed

Sometimes these things are meant to be
    Sometimes a look is destiny
Maybe Ill leave this one alone
Maybe these eyes should never roam

    (I want your lovely face)
