Story Behind the Song
I wanted to do something fun and upbeat, and
began by playing around with the idea that
when men & women date, there are always mixed
signals (that Mars & Venus thing). Trying
to find a fresh angle on a done-before topic,
I moved the scene into the digital realm with
cellular phone & creating the perfect
"Digital Man". After several rewrites & being
in the studio with two vocalists it came
together in this rough mix.
Lyrics
Verse:
I'm on the cell phone to my analog guy
He's been out roaming and I ask him why
Signal distorts and I don't understand
I need to find me a Digital Man.
Verse:
And when I find myself a Digital Man
One who's upgraded to an updated plan
He'll plug me in his fidelity high
I want Digital Man, not an analog guy.
Chorus:
Without cutting out, breaking up, losing touch
I'm received static free by a Digital Man
Activate, can't wait, lock me in,
Recharge my battery Digital Man.
Verse:
I'm confident it's worth every cent
For his long term service agreement
Digital Man's nights and weekends are free
Satisfaction is a guarantee.
